panzanella: Panzanella is an Italian dish. The root of the word, pan, means bread, and panzanella is a bread salad. It’s typically made from stale leftover bread, and its origins probably came from a desire not to waste food. Panzanella often has fresh tomatoes, olive oil, vinegar, and some kind of aromatic herb like basil, but can also include may other bits of leftover produce.
